Reunion:
Last year, in August, 2004, Liz played a
special tour in Germany with a very versatile group from Berlin called the
Hot String Quintet. Everyone had a
great time and nearly all the concerts were sold out. This year we have a little reunion for
these 2 concerts in southern Germany, where Liz will be backed by 4 members
of the Hot String Quintet – so for this tour, they will be the “Hot
String Quartet.”
Because the concerts are in Germany and we
have a little info in the right language, there is a short piece included
below about the band in German.

In seiner
langjährigen Bandgeschichte ist das „HOT STRING QUARTET“ zu einer
hochkarätigen Akustik-Band mit einem breiten stilistischen Spektrum
herangereift. Die (vier) versierten Musiker haben die Nase im Wind weltweiter
musikalischer Strömungen und bleiben dabei ihrer Vorliebe für ausgefeilte
Arrangements mit vielstimmigem Gesang treu.

THE BAND MEMBERS:
SVATKA STEPANKOVA
(BEST FEMALE VOCALIST 1998; #2 FEMALE VOCALIST 2002,
Czech Bluegrass Music Association), an accomplished bassist and strong singer
with a softly compelling voice, has worked with award-winning fiddler
PEPA MALINA
(BEST FIDDLER 1998 – 2002, Czech Bluegrass Music
Association), in
one of Prague’s most popular young progressive bluegrass bands, FIFTY FINGERS, since 1996. Pepa is a
powerful musician and fine arranger, and has studied violin at the
prestigious Jazz Conservatoire in Prague.
ZBYNEK BURESZ (vocals,
dobro, banjo) is a fine songwriter with a prodigious vocal range, as well as a
versatile instrumentalist. Zbynek is the lead singer in the popular Czech band RELIEF,
with numerous awards to his credit, including:
